A NEW Pelican Crossing has been officially opened on Windsor Road in Penarth, to the delight of local resident Susannah McWilliam who has campaigned relentlessly for its installation.

Susannah has risked life and limb over many years trying to cross her four children over Windsor Road in order to get to school on time.

She has been in regular correspondence with the Vale of Glamorgan Council and is thrilled that her perseverance has finally paid off.

It can sometimes take a frustrating ten minutes or more for people to cross Windsor Road each morning, such is the volume of traffic heading to Cardiff.
