FILMING for the action-packed finale of Dr Who series 4 took place in Penarth last week.

As our pictures show, David Tennant, who plays the good doctor, was joined on location by Torchwood star Captain Jack Harkness - otherwise known as John Barrowman - and the TARDIS.

BBC cameras set up late on Wednesday evening outside the former Royal Hotel on Queens Road, at the junction with Arcot Street and Paget Road.

But a BBC spokesperson refused to comment on speculation that Billie Piper, who played Rose Tyler in the first two series of the revamped popular sci fi show, was also on set.

Take a look at the pictures, sent in by Penarth Times reader Paul Dyer, and see what you think!
